East Hanover K of C, Council No. 6504Minutes from Meeting on 11 January 2010 · Meeting started at 8:02 PM, 25 Members in attendance · Officers Role Call – All in attendance or excused · Minutes from last meeting (28 December 2009) not read · Introduction of newest member, Nick Sisto · Spelling Bee on Sat, 6 Feb 2010 @ 10 AM o Need to stop by Carl Vidal for Proof of Insurance o Need to get approval for facilities o Two teachers will be running it, same as prior years § Need to get $50 gift cards for teachers as well as prizes o 9:45 AM @ Middle School for all volunteers o Letter to Principals (Middle and St. Rose) – Ron to do · Friday, 29 January is Bishop’s Night @ OLM in Whippany o Will make a $150 donation – Neale Baxter may attend · Wives Appreciation Night on Sat, 6 Feb o 7 PM to 11 PM @ Ravello’s o $100/couple o Entertainment taken care of o Gifts are WIP – Andy L. to provide donation letter to L’Oreal for fragrance · Sunday, 28 Feb is Pancake Breakfast o Andy Liebhauser will chair o Signs need to be printed and distributed around town – Andy § Look into WMTR for advertising o Look into entertainment for kids – Clown – Andy working on price o Menu: Pancakes, Sausage, Juice, Coffee, Milk § Ideas to have Coffee Cake -> possibly donated o Cost: $6 Adults, $3 Children, $12 per family o Location: Fahey Hall -> No snow date as now · St. Patrick’s Dance and Super 50/50 on Sat, 13 March o Approval for Super 50/50 coming the week of 18 Jan 2010 o John McTaggart/Chris Virginio are Co-Chairs o Chris Virginio to contact entertainment and reserve o Discussion on next steps (tickets, advertising) at next meeting on 25 Jan 2010 · Visiting of sick KOC members/families o Deacon Leo is chairing this cause o Would like to arrange some schedule for this o Visits would have to be coordinated in advance with sick brother/family o Possible visits for now are Peter Grasman, Andy Knapik, Joe Larina · Publicity o Working to try and do publicity for Council events either locally or with Supreme (Columbia Magazine) o The Winter Coat Drive that Gregg D coordinated would be a good example o For more local, could try with Beacon o Local Paper has not followed through · First Degree on Mon, 8 Feb o 2-3 perspective members o Have 9 of 14 already for Star Council -> Push to get 5 for this degree · Purchase of ‘One Nation Under God’ flags o Have Flags, working with Yarde Metals on next steps · 4th Degree on 25 April 2010 o 3rd Degrees that would like to make it have to make choice/submit paperwork by end February, 2010 · Letter to Bishop Seratelli to thank him regarding keeping Fr. Owen at St. Rose o Ron to look into · Create a Welcome Package for new members that will include a list of all activities that KoC Council does, including months o Details around purpose of each event and types of volunteerism that is required · EH KoC Investments o Discussion around what opportunities we have to use it o Vinnie Leo, Ron Corey, Barry H and Fred D to look into some opportunities – potentially to get better return on investment · Treasurer Update o Full Report Given on all expenses, including end of year 2009 events o Current Balance is $5,500 · Financial Secretary o Dues Notice will be sent out for 2010 o The 20 or so members that have dues in arrears will be contacted by members § Members that are having financial difficulty will be given a pass o Bills are coming due for Supreme o Materials to be ordered for Degrees · Good of the Order discussed · Meeting Closed at 9:25 PM
